Measure G will not protect property values.

Heard from the Community

"Opposition to measure G has nothing to do with teachers. It has everything to do with fiscal responsibility."

You Bet I'm Going to Vote!

No on Measure G Parcel Tax - Special Election June 2nd

  • Wrong Tax
  • Wrong Time

Measure G is a "feel-good Band-Aid on an undiagnosed trauma."

Voting NO will require the Pleasanton Unified School District (PUSD) to implement long-term, sustainable solutions.  An immediate move toward sound fiscal management policies is critical to Saving Pleasanton Schools now and in the long term!

Wrong Tax!

Measure G allows PUSD's ever-increasing spending to continue on such items as annual raises, car allowances, etc.  It only postpones the inevitable need to implement better fiscal management strategies.  PUSD has confirmed that step-and-column raises alone will cost $15 million over the 4 year life of the proposed tax.  In this economy, that is not only unwise, it's just plain wrong.

Wrong Time!

Pay cuts and layoffs are already affecting all of our budgets.  Our taxes are already amongst the highest in the nation.  PUSD is asking voters to burden themselves with an additional property tax, a $233 per parcel tax during the worst economic crisis in recent history.

Since it is possible to balance PUSD's budget without a parcel tax, it is disrespectful to the community for PUSD to ask us to increase our tax burden before they trim every bit of fat in the budget and pursue all other cuts available to them which are distant from the classroom.
